The Orphaned Children’s Foundation accepts vehicle donations through Action Donation Services. ADS operates throughout the United States and has exclusive agreements to process the property donations for our charity. They provide free towing and expertly process all required DMV and IRS documents.

ADS maximizes the sales price of your donation and the amount of return on your charitable contribution by utilizing their expertise in the industry to assess each donation and assign it to the proper facility. When feasible, they administer significant material improvements to donations in order to increase their selling price benefiting both the donor (larger deduction) and our charity. They are a licensed auto dealer, which enables them to retail vehicles. Whenever feasible, they sell our donations at retail (not wholesale) which further increases the selling price of donated property.
Their state of the art database allows them to track and manage all donated property with just a few keystrokes. From their offices, they can monitor each donation at any point in the process anywhere in the USA. This allows them to track and maximize the value of your donation from the time it is picked up, to the time your official IRS tax receipt is mailed to you.

Action Donation Services is registered as a Commercial Fundraising Organization in every state where they either advertise or have client charities. Hassle Free Vehicle Donation Procedure
By donating, you do not have to worry about selling the property yourself, including: low offers, mechanical repairs, liability issues or advertising expenses. The time consuming process of showing and selling your property to a complete stranger could pose a potential risk to you and/or your family.

2. When you call, please have your title or registration handy to provide important information necessary to begin the donation process. All property must be transferable and free of liens.
3. After we have received all of the pertinent information including: year, make, model, VIN #, license #, correct spelling of name(s) from title, and description of property, pick up address, etc; then your information will be forwarded to our review committee to determine if the property is acceptable. If the property is acceptable, a pickup agent will contact you promptly to schedule a convenient date and time for pickup.
4. At the time of pick up, you will be asked for the title and you will be required to sign any necessary transferring documents. At this point you will receive a temporary receipt for your donation.
5. As soon as your property is sold you will receive your tax receipt.

Acceptable Types of Donations
They can facilitate just about anything that is financially beneficial for the charities we service. These items include but are not limited too: cars, trucks, vans, motorcycles, RVs, jet skis, boats, planes, heavy equipment (forklifts, etc) and real estate. However, they do not facilitate furniture or household goods. Their goal is to assist the Orphaned Children’s Foundation to generate much needed funding for our organization. With this in mind, they can only accept property that will have a positive financial impact for the foundation. In most states, a valid certificate of title or deed of trust, clear of liens and transferable is required. In other states such as California, property registered with the DMV, simply requires a valid registration (clear of liens) in donor's name will suffice as long as the property is transferable. Tax Deduction Information
Action Donation Services will issue your tax receipt on behalf of your chosen non-profit and mail it to you as soon as your donated property is sold.
ADS evaluates each and every donation on a case by case basis. Whenever financially beneficial, ADS will repair, refurbish, and properly prepare donated property for sale. The ultimate goal being to maximize the selling price. ADS also has the option of selling property on the retail market (not wholesale) in order to achieve the maximum resale value. When feasible, property which is sold at auction, is carefully prepared to bring the maximum price. The importance of giving this kind of superior attention to improving donated property prior to sale cannot be over-emphasized! This unique feature of the ADS program results in significantly greater income for the charities per donation. And can dramatically increase the maximum legal tax deduction available for the donor.
Their tax receipts fully comply with all IRS requirements. For property sold under $500, you may claim the greater of either the fair market value or the sales price (not to exceed $500).
For property valued over $500, the following applies; If they administer material improvements, they will print a detailed description of these improvements on the tax receipt (IRS form 1098-C). If the IRS determines that the improvements listed on the 1098-C form constitute significant material improvements, then the donor may be allowed to deduct up to private party value. Private party value can be determined a number of ways such as; a valuation guide (Kelley Blue Book, NADA, Edmunds) or an appraisal by an independent appraiser.
They will mail one copy of the 1098-C form to the IRS and two copies to you. You must attach a copy of IRS Form 1098-C to your tax return when claiming deductions.
