Anti-Discrimination Policy
It is the policy of the Orphaned Children’s Foundation (OCF) to provide equality of opportunity to all Adoption Grant Applicants. Accordingly, the Foundation does not practice or condone unlawful discrimination in any form against any individuals, volunteers or applicants on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.
Conflict of Interest Policy
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidance in identifying and handling potential and actual conflicts of interest involving the foundation. In most instances, conflicts of interest can be avoided simply by continuing to exercise good judgment and, indeed, the foundation relies on the sound judgment of its employees to prevent many such conflict situations.
The foundation is committed to the highest levels of integrity. Employees and volunteers of the foundation are expected to conduct their relationships with each other, the foundation, and outside organizations with objectivity and honesty. The general rule is that: foundation employees and volunteers are obligated to avoid and disclose ethical, legal, financial, or other conflicts of interest involving the foundation, and remove themselves from a position of decision-making authority with respect to any conflict situation involving the foundation.
Charitable Contribution Policy
This policy has been implemented in order to protect adoptive families who are applying for grants and the Foundation from the perception of compromise during the adoption grant evaluation process.
As a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity, Orphaned Children’s Foundation (OCF) welcomes donations to assist us in our mission to make a better life for orphaned children of the world.
OCF will not knowingly seek or accept unsolicited donations from adoptive families, and any such donation will not be accepted from the recipient of a Grant Application until after the placement of the child into their home. This policy also applies to immediate family, which is defined as parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters of the adoptive family.
The Foundation may not accept donations from the Foundation’s Grantee families, or the parents, siblings or other close relatives of the is received until the child is placed in their home.
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes the Foundation’s current policies and practices with regard to personal data collected by the Foundation through this website. The term "personal data" refers to personally identifiable information about you, such as your name, birth date, e-mail address or mailing address, and any other information that is identified with you personally.
The Foundation is continually improving and adding new functionality and features to this website and improving and adding to our existing products, services and programs. Because of these ongoing changes, changes in the law and the changing nature of technology, the Foundation’s data practices will change from time to time. If and when our data practices change, we will post the changes on our website to notify you of the changes. We encourage you to check this page frequently.
The only personal data the Foundation currently collects through this website is the information you give us when you sign up for our newsletter, or comment on our blog, send a comment form or Apply for a grant. For example, you may use this site to submit a question to ask a question. When you use one of the forms on this site, we ask you for your name and other contact information, including, for example, your name and contact information.
The Foundation uses the information you provide exclusively to respond to your e-mail, answer your question or resolve your problem. The Foundation uses this information to help us improve the content and functionality of our website, to better understand the needs of the adoption community, and to improve our programs and services.
In addition to the information you provide when you use our website, the Foundation uses technology to collect anonymous information about the use of our website. For example, we use technology to track how many visitors access our site, the date and time of their visit, the length of their stay, and which pages they view. We also use technology to determine which Web browsers our visitors use and the address from which they accessed our site (for example, if they connected to abc123.org by clicking on a banner ad at one of our partners’ websites). This technology does not identify you personally. It simply enables us to compile statistics about our visitors and their use of our site. The Foundation uses this anonymous data to improve the content and functionality of our website, to better understand the needs of the adoption community, and to improve our programs and services.
In order to collect the anonymous data described in the preceding paragraph, the Foundation may use temporary "cookies" that collect the first level domain name of the user (for example, if your e-mail address is "abc123@xyz.com," the cookie collects the "xyz.com" portion of your e-mail address) and the date and time you accessed this website. Cookies by themselves cannot be used to discover the identity of the user. A cookie is a small piece of information which is sent to your browser and stored on your computer's hard drive. Cookies do not damage your computer. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie. This enables you to decide if you want to accept it or not.
The Foundation will not share any of the personal data collected through this website, other than in some limited circumstances in which the Foundation may share or transfer the personal data in our databases, for example, to comply with a legal requirement, for the administration of justice or to protect your vital interests.

The Foundation’s website contains hyperlinks to sites that are not operated by the Foundation. These hyperlinks are provided for your reference and convenience only. The Foundation does not control these websites and is not responsible for their data practices. Reporting of Unethical/Illegal Conduct and Non-Retaliation Policy (What follows is the Foundation’s “whistleblower” policy in its entirety. It is addressed to our volunteers and affiliates.)
The Foundation is committed to lawful and ethical behavior in all of its activities and requires its employees to conduct themselves in a manner that complies with all applicable laws and regulations. If at any time a concern exists regarding the propriety or legality of any action contemplated to be taken or that has been taken by any Foundation employee, or grantee, contractor, vendor, as the action relates to foundation activities, or if an action needs to be taken in order for the foundation to be in compliance with law or appropriate ethical standards, you can address the issue directly by going to your manager or to the next level of management as needed until matters are satisfactorily resolved.
Under this policy (sometimes referred to as a “whistleblower policy”), those who report illegal or improper activity will be protected. Efforts will be made to treat a report of unethical or illegal conduct as confidential, consistent with the need to investigate and prevent or correct the action. The individual making the report will not be discharged, threatened, harassed, or discriminated against for reporting in good faith what they perceive to be wrongdoing, violations of law, or unethical conduct.
